The Homestead Jeweler
Coming from an unexpected background as an engineer, Andrew Lerner carved his own path in the fine jewelry world, earning a reputation as the go-to designer for any custom job. He began his journey at the renowned luxury brand David Yurman, where he honed his understanding of high-end jewelry design and manufacturing.
But it was the bustling streets of New York’s Diamond District where Andrew truly made his mark. As a freelance jewelry designer, he became the hidden force behind many businesses offering custom pieces—if a shop needed a one-of-a-kind design, he was the one they called. With his long hair, laid-back demeanor, and signature board shorts (a nod to his early-morning surf sessions), he quickly became known as “the surfer of the Diamond District.”
Over the past 15 years, Andrew’s custom portfolio has encompassed everything from replicating antique estate pieces to crafting extravagant rapper jewelry and recreating iconic red-carpet designs. His time apprenticing under master jewelers gave him an intimate understanding of how a piece transitions from concept to craftsmanship, allowing him to refine his designs for flawless execution. As his career progressed, he found himself drawn to bridal jewelry, designing engagement rings that captured the unique essence of each love story.
What sets Andrew apart is his intuitive approach—his design consultations feel like effortless conversations, uncovering subtle details about his clients and translating them into the perfect piece. With a deep well of experience and an unmatched eye for detail, Andrew is a designer who can bring any vision to life.
In 2021, Andrew and his wife Jeanette wanted to move to the tropics and start a simpler homestead life for their future children. In was at this time Andrew began developing methods to design jewelry and create it entirely virtually, guaranteeing a continuation of his brand while following their family's new lifepath. After a successful year of 100% virtually made jewelry, the move happened, and the Homestead Jeweler was born.
